Bio

Xijia (Romee) Lai 来, an artist from Northeast China, is currently studying drawing and painting at OCAD University in Toronto. Her artistic journey reflects a profound exploration of faith, healing, and the divine. Initially grounded in more representational styles, her work has gradually transitioned toward abstraction, a shift influenced by her deepening spiritual reflection and personal growth.

Recently, much of her work has been inspired by the Bible, which has become a wellspring of creative and emotional resonance. This has driven her to explore abstract forms and symbolic languages, enabling her to capture the intangible aspects of divine love, spiritual struggle, and personal transformation. By blending chaotic textures with harmonious elements, her evolving style mirrors the balance between life's complexities and the serenity she finds through faith.

Through her art, Romee 来 seeks to convey her experiences of healing, the divine love she has encountered, and her response to that love, sharing a profound journey of faith, emotion, and self-discovery.
